Plean Cyclocross

Great achievement by the young Clarion Racers this weekend at Plean. All the Primary School aged kids had to race round a long section of the adult course which was over a mile long.
Under 8' had one lap whilst the under 10's and under 12's had 2 laps.
The pace was tough from the whistle in all races as the riders are all determined to do well.

There were over 60 participants for the under 12's races so a great success for the organisers who did a great job try to manage all the kids (and parents), not easy I'm sure you'll agree.
The parents needn't have worried the kids definitely didn't. All went well with no injuries or tears and the West Lothian Clarion racked up a few successes.
Sam Chisolm was first off in the under 8's and had a great race. Fantastic to see him on the podium at the end. It will be great to see him there again in future races wearing club colours.
Sam raced really well and showed true grit, another podium chaser for the future, well done !

Cameron Mason had another good outing in the under 12's. He got off to a poor start despite being gridded to the front but made that up over the remainder of the course to pull off a well deserved 4th. Very tough competition.

Jamie Mason had one of his best races to date despite an early crash. Jamie was racing on the full adult course for 30 minutes plus and managed to keep up a strong pace. The bikes were powering through the timing gate at very high speeds coming off the long downhill straight before entering a very tight chicane. Jamie was really pleased with his 7th place finish.

Many thanks to all at Stirling Bike Club for organising such a great event for adults and kids alike. A great family day out.
Hope to see as many as possible taking part in next weekends Hill Climb.
